$10,000 Donation at Machines and Macchiatos October Event
Harbord Diggers is thrilled to announce that following its successful monthly Machines and Macchiatos events with Sydney Machina Social Club, the final October event saw a special cheque presentation to the event’s two charity beneficiaries, Cure Brain Cancer Foundation and Bear Cottage.
Mounties Group made this $10,000 donation at the October Machines and Macchiatos event at Harbord Diggers on Sunday 8 October. The two benefactors received $5,000 each.
“The donation of $10,000 represents a dollar for dollar match by Mounties Group based on the funds raised over the course of a year from hosting the regular Machines and Macchiatos events,” explained General Manager of Harbord Diggers Dale Hunt. The monthly Machines and Macchiatos events see proud owners of all makes and models of vehicles come together to socialise and share their wonderful machines with locals, all whilst enjoying great coffee or breakfast overlooking the ocean at Harbord Diggers.
“The $5,000 raised from these events over the last twelve months is the result of collecting gold coin donations upon entry and undertaking raffles at each event, with proceeds being evenly split between the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation and local charity, Bear Cottage,” continued Mr Hunt. Cure Brain Cancer Foundation is the leading organisation for brain cancer research, advocacy and awareness in Australia, with a focus on forging global collaborations, funding innovative research and bringing world-class clinical trials to Australia to give children and adults with brain cancer access to new treatments faster. Based in Manly, Bear Cottage is the only children’s hospice in NSW providing a very special place that’s dedicated to caring for children with life-limiting conditions. “In collaboration with Sydney Machina Social Club, we are thrilled to be able to continue our commitment to supporting worthwhile causes and our Board’s commitment to match donations from these events dollar for dollar, provides a fantastic result of giving back more than $10,000,” concluded Mr Hunt.
The October Machines and Macchiatos event was the last held at Harbord Diggers before the club temporarily closes its doors to make way for the new intergenerational precinct set to open in 2018.
