Mounties Group hosts Charity Golf Day to support Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children

On Friday, 8 December, more than 120 club industry representatives gathered for the Mounties Group Annual Charity Golf Day at Liverpool Golf Club. Following the event, Mounties is on track to donate $50,000 to Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC).
RIDBC is Australia’s largest non-government provider of education, therapy and cochlear implant services for children and adults with vision or hearing loss, their families, and the professionals who support them.
This year’s golf day was a great success full of sunshine, smiles and golf swings. Funds raised will enable RIDBC to establish a playgroup called “Liv’s Place” in the Western Sydney District for children from birth to 5 years of age with vision impairment. As part of this funding, children at the playgroup will have access to a range of specialist therapies and early intervention support. Another benefit of this playgroup is that it will provide families with a support network in the local community.
Whilst there was some competition between players, the 18 Hole Four Ball Ambrose competition was not all about winning, it was about raising funds and awareness for RIDBC.
Legendary former Australian cricketer Greg Matthews was a guest speaker at the event, and was joined on-stage by fellow former Aussie bowler, Doug Bollinger, who is currently starring in the NSW Premier Cricket competition for Fairfield Liverpool.
Greg Matthews remarked that he was proud to be part of such an amazing event, and acknowledged that the Mounties’ annual golf day changes people’s lives for the better all because of cooperation within the
community.
“I’m really glad I was able to attend and make a small contribution to the community and charity. It was also great to hear the legendary Doug Bollinger tell his stories at the event,” said Matthews.
Mounties Group CEO, Mr Greg Pickering said, “Each year we select a different charity to support, with the main goal of the golf day being to make a difference in the lives of children in our local community.“The annual event shows just how willing our industry is to support a good cause.,” added Mr Pickering.
RIDBC Chief Executive, Chris Rehn said, “We greatly appreciate being chosen as the charity benefiting from this year’s Mounties Group Golf Day. On behalf of everyone at RIDBC, I would sincerely like to thank everyone involved in organising and participating in this charitable event.”
Mounties would like to say a special thanks to its sponsors SG Gaming, Betting.Club, Aristocrat, and event hosts Liverpool Golf Club, who have all been huge helpers in making this event a success.
