Mounties Celebrates 50 Years in the Community

18 Mar 2020

Mounties, one of the largest community clubs in Sydney, is set to celebrate its 50th Anniversary this April, with a host of celebratory events to mark this major milestone.

With few major licensed clubs in Australia as interconnected and committed to the community as Mounties, the Club will be celebrating 50 years with a variety of celebratory events and promotions during the month of April.

In true celebratory style, on Monday, 2 April Mounties invites the whole community to come and celebrate with an official cake cutting ceremony in the Humphries Road Foyer at 10.00am. On the same day, a Members’ Birthday Party will be held with spectacular novelties in store for patrons to enjoy, including a larger than life jumping castle in the Champions area and roving entertainers to entertain adults and kids alike.

To enjoy a stroll down memory lane in April, Mounties welcomes members and guests to experience the history of the club with a storyboard in the club. Visitors are welcome to witness the transformation that Mounties has undertaken, from the two government huts that were hauled by road from Herne Bay (now known as Riverwood) and anchored on 1.2 hectares of land in Meadows Road, Mount Pritchard, to the most recent restorations that have taken place.

It is clear that Mounties’ evolution has reflected the social and sporting requirements of the community. Since the very beginning, Mounties has been offering spectacular entertainment and events, nurturing local athletes to reach their aspirations, and contributing to the local community by awarding grants and being involved in various projects. The Mounties ethos of giving back to the community, supporting the social and sporting needs of the community shines through all its activities over the past 50 years.

Dedicating a night to special members of the Club, Mounties Group will host an official birthday dinner at Starz on Saturday, 7 April 2018 with the invite list featuring members from the Board, Foundation and Life Members and their partners, totalling 200 guests coming together to celebrate the achievements of the club.

Kevin Ingram, Mounties Group President, said, “So many people along the way have been instrumental in the growth of Mounties and we would like to share the success of our Club with the community. It is our members who have been community minded, our staff who have been loyal and our everyday people who have been dedicated to Mounties, which has gotten us to where we are today.”

“We are certain that the spark that turned a vision into reality, will continue to burn brightly for many years to come,” Mr Ingram said.

Throughout the month of April, Mounties will be rolling out a range of social competitions and in-venue promotions. A photo booth will be situated in the foyer for patrons to document and share special moments at the Club and a social competition will be implemented to encourage members and guests to share their Mounties memories on Facebook. A mega birthday raffle will also be hosted during April for $20,000 worth of prizes. Membership promotions will take into effect at the start of April with new memberships and existing memberships discounted by 50%.

Mounties wants Members and their guests to share the spoils of this grand occasion. A member promotion will run throughout April where winners can win up to $50,000 cash every Tuesday & Thursday on the giant chocolate wheel. “Find a Fiddy Fridays” will see 50 patrons win a $50 voucher every Friday in the form of a treasure hunt and instant rewards plus on Saturdays, guests will have the chance to win a complimentary beverage in a ‘spin the wheel’ online promotion.
