Mounties Encourages Locals to 'Tuck In' this Christmas with Food Trucks
Christmas at Mounties is set to be even bigger and better than before, as the club welcomes its first ever Food Truck Weekend, taking place from Friday, 15 December to Monday 18 December.
Knafeh Bakery’s famous bearded bakers will be joining in the fun alongside EL’s Fried Chicken, Happy as Larry, Smokin’ Grill Barbecue, Two Hungry Italiani and Molong Farm for the four-day fiesta. Everyone’s favourite tastes will be catered to as patrons are invited to indulge in the delectable food offerings. Members and guests are invited to enjoy live music and refreshments after indulging at the Food Truck Festival at the Mounties’ Outdoor Terrace Bar and Mounties Sports Bar.
Part theatre, part gastronomic experience, members and guests can expect a memorable performance from the El Issa brothers as their well-known Knafeh truck serves their infamous Middle-Eastern dessert - a sweet cheese and semolina pudding, covered in a layer of fine crumbing mix.
From Saturday, 16 December to Monday, 18 December, Pizza-on-wheels food truck, Happy as Larry, will be sure to bring merriment to the festival as the casual Italian eatery serves up pizzas that pay homage to the Neapolitan classic, while offering non-traditional toppings. Two Hungry Italiani will serve a non-traditional mashup, pasta served in a pizza dough bowl. For those who are looking for something a little different, The Molong Farm Vintage Food Van offers homemade food made with sustainable produce. Patrons can expect Molong Lamb served on spiced couscous and pulled pork rolls with apple slaw.
From Friday, 15 December to Monday, 18 December, Smokin’ Grill Barbecue will also be serving up slaw, but with slow-cooked American Style BBQ, alongside EL’s Fried Chicken – an Aussie favourite.
Located in the carpark, adjacent to the tennis courts, Mounties’ Food Truck Festival will run from 4.00pm until 10.00pm on Friday, 15 December and Monday, 18 December, and from 10.00am until 10.00pm on Saturday, 16 December and Sunday, 17 December.

The Food Truck Fest takes place on the same weekend as Mounties’ Members Christmas Carnival. Kicking off on Saturday, 16 December, the two-day festival takes place from 10.00am - 4.00pm. With fun for adults and children alike, the carnival will feature rides, live entertainment, a petting zoo, and the chance to meet the star of the show – Father Christmas.
