Breakers Country Club, Club Wyong and Halekulani Bowling Club are enhancing therapy services for individuals with complex disabilities, having jointly donated over $20,000 to Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) centres in Erina and Tuggerah.

CPA's Erina and Tuggerah centres serve as crucial hubs for therapy services catering to over 500 babies, children and adults with complex disabilities and their families on the Central Coast. These services play a pivotal role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve developmental milestones, improve communication skills, enhance social interactions and foster greater independence in various aspects of life.

The support from Mounties Group’s Central Coast clubs via the 2023 ClubGRANTS program has assisted with the delivery of physiotherapy, communication, learning and access, as well as occupational therapy and early intervention for locals with disabilities. In addition, this ClubGRANT has assisted with the allocation of specialised equipment which enables greater independence and inclusion for individuals living with disabilities.

“The generous support of Mounties Central Coast clubs has enhanced CPA’s capability in the provision of quality evidence-based therapy services to local people with disability and has contributed to making a positive difference towards them leading the most independent and inclusive lives possible,” said Rachael McGlynn, Therapy Manager at CPA’S Erina centre.

“We are currently working on providing further information and feedback from our therapists that outlines the short- and long-term benefits for therapy participants in having access to the specialised equipment and resources funded.

“In particular we know that this funding will have a huge impact on CPA’s capacity to provide evidence-based intervention therapy for vulnerable people with disability, and their families, in the Central Coast community,” added Ms McGlynn.

With a combined staff of 25 specialist allied health therapists, CPA's Erina and Tuggerah centres remain committed to supporting individuals with complex disabilities to realise their full potential and actively participate in family, school and community life.

"Disability support services are hugely in demand in regional areas such as the Central Coast as people move further from our main cities and we are pleased to have assisted Cerebral Palsy Alliance with this important initiative in the area," said Mounties Group President, John Dean.
