Dessert Lovers Delight For Day Of Decadence At The Diggers
18 Mar 2020
Dessert lovers will unite this spring when Harbord Diggers partners with artisan desserts and sweets brand, Milk n' Sugar to bring a Day of Decadence on Sunday 24 September.
The Diggers Day of Decadence will be held from 12pm to 8pm in the club’s Corona beer garden and deck area overlooking Curl Curl Beach and will include an array of pop up sweets stands and dessert offerings from well-known operators.
Dale Hunt, General Manager of Harbord Diggers, said that despite temporarily closing its doors from November to make way for the new club, the Diggers is not winding down just yet, with this event just one of many for locals to enjoy over the next six weeks.
“Our Day of Decadence is another Diggers community event that is delivering on our promise to provide a taste of things to come.
“With the success of our Food Truck Festival last year we thought it would be timely to host another very special pop up event but this time focusing on all things sweet, to enable locals to enjoy an afternoon and evening of delicious delights,” said Mr Hunt.
The event, presented by Milk n’ Sugar, will offer a range of different dessert options including Kurtosh ice cream cones, decadent donuts, gourmet fairy floss and more.
“We have six renowned sweet and artisan dessert operators who will be part of our Day of Decadence including Donut Papi, Fluffy Crunch, Torch Me Crème Brûlée, Burger Butlers, Hungary Bites and Diego's Donuts,” continued Mr Hunt.
“We are delighted to be teaming up with Milk n’ Sugar for this unique event as they are renowned for their scrumptious sweet concepts, including their two week dessert market at Sydney’s Vivid Festival,” he explained. Milk n’ Sugar’s Shayna Slotar said that if decadent desserts and mouth-watering sweets are your thing, you will definitely want to check out this special pop up event. “You can expect an array of exotic desserts sure to tantalise your tastebuds at our Day of Decadence including ice cream cones made out of Kurtosh Hungarian doughnuts courtesy of Hungary Bites or handmade 'gourmet' doughnuts with original and classic flavours from Donut Papi and Diego’s Donuts," explained Ms Slotar.
"We are also excited to have one of the favourites from Vivid, the glow in the dark fairy floss spun on a LED glow stick by Fluffy Crunch and sweet tooths will go crazy for Torch Me Brûlées flavoured street style crème brûlées. “And for something unique, Burger Butlers will be serving their Sweet Amour burger of freshly sliced strawberries, housemade Mediterranean sweet cream, Nutella, orange blossom and a pinch of crushed pistachios, all resting between brioche slider buns,” she added.
Entry to the Diggers Day of Decadence is free and the club’s Dig Inn Café & Bar and rooftop restaurant Gio will be open for those who want something a little more savoury on the day.
