Mounties Dedicates 28th Annual Charity Easter Bunny Run To The Memory Of Its Founder

On Tuesday, 4 April Mounties will host their 28th anniversary Charity Easter Run, a long-running tradition that embraces the message of giving back at Easter.

Mounties staff members Maree Pullen and Marion Chapman founded the Charity Easter Run in 1989. Collecting Easter eggs from staff members, they visited their local schools and nursing homes, donating chocolate eggs to bring joy to the local community.

This year, the 28th annual Charity Easter Run will be renamed the 2017 Marion Chapman Easter Bunny Charity Run in memory of Marion who sadly passed away a few weeks ago. Marion had been a Mounties employee for 33 years until her retirement in 2015.

Mounties staff will carry on Maree and Marion’s tradition by visiting William Stimson Special School in Wetherill Park and Summit Care nursing home in Liverpool, to spread the joy of Easter.

The Mounties Easter Bunny will visit the 46 students who attend William Stimson Special School in Wetherill Park at 9.30am on Tuesday. The school is dedicated to providing a positive and happy educational environment and Mounties hopes to support this message by teaching students to encourage and care for each other, and deliver chocolates as a treat.   

Mounties staff will then visit Summit Care from 12.00pm. Summit Care, a family-owned business that has been supporting the community for generations, looks forward to welcoming Mounties staff in delivering warmth and companionship to the residents at the nursing home.

Mounties Group President, Kevin Ingram said, “Easter is an important time where most of us get together with our families and spend quality time with each other. The Mounties Charity Easter Run is a way for Mounties staff to show their care and dedication to the local community who are an important part of our family. This year’s run will be extra special as it’s in honour of Marion who much much-loved by all at Mounties.”
