Mounties Group And Liverpool Hospital To Help Ease The Fear Of Young Patients

18 Mar 2020

Mounties Group has raised over $43,000 that will enable Liverpool Hospital to design and publish a book to help explain the hospital process for sick and injured children being admitted to hospital.

The presentation of monies will take place at Liverpool Hospital tomorrow (Friday).

The funds are a result of Mounties’ annual golf day where over 120 industry representatives, community stakeholders and golf enthusiasts came together at Liverpool Golf Club to enjoy a day on the green and make a difference to the lives of children.

Ms Robynne Cooke, General Manager of Liverpool Hospital, has spoken about the importance of the funds for the local hospital.

“About 30 per cent of our admissions are kids and when these kids come into our hospital, they are scared and frightened,” Ms Cooke said.

“The donation from Mounties will enable us to develop a book which details the journey of a child from the Emergency Department through to the Paediatric Unit. We see this as a way of making the experience a little more comfortable for them, so they know they are in an organisation that cares for them.”

Mounties Group CEO, Mr Greg Pickering, said days like the club’s golf day were a way that Mounties’ corporate partners and commercial suppliers could get behind the Group’s bid to positively impact the Fairfield and Liverpool region.

“Events like our annual golf day demonstrate how the notion of extending a helping hand to those in need is supported not only by our business, but by those who do business with us,” said Mounties Group CEO, Greg Pickering.

“We look forward to working with Liverpool Hospital in educating young patients about the hospital system, and helping to remove the fear that they might have when being treated.”

Mounties Group prides itself on the enormous contribution it makes to the local community. In 2015/16, it poured in excess of $6 million back into the community via its annual ClubGRANTS program and its financial and in-kind support of community groups, sporting clubs and the maintenance of sporting facilities.

The major sponsors of Mounties Group Annual Charity Golf Day were Scientific Games, betting.club, Aristrocat, Asahi Beverages, Schweppes and Liverpool Golf Club.
