Mounties Launches Socially Inclusive Junior Rugby League 'Try Time' Team

Mounties Group is hoping to form a Junior Rugby League team to take part in 'Try Time', a program that provides a socially inclusive and safe environment for children, teenagers and adults with disabilities.

On Saturday, 24 February, Mounties will be holding a registration day for aspiring young rugby league players – both female and male players of all ages. The day will run alongside Mounties' NSW Rugby League trial match versus Manly Sea Eagles, at Aubrey Keech Reserve, in Hinchinbrook.

Darren Deitz, Try Time Co-Founder and Director said, "Try Time was initially developed for a group of local players with disabilities, for the purposes of providing them with an opportunity to play Junior Rugby League."

"With the continuous expansion of the program, more Junior Rugby League clubs are introducing Try Time to their local communities and this not only allows people to raise awareness of those with disabilities but also inspires and helps our society develop deeper relationship and bonds. We’re excited to have Mounties join the program and help increase social inclusion in the Fairfield and Liverpool community," Deitz said.

The objective of the Try Time Junior Rugby League program will focus on promoting fitness, strengthening muscle tone, improving gross motor skills, enhancing team work and social interaction, and most importantly, for team members to have fun.
